Resident Volunteer Coordinator

Compass Health Network Festus, MO (Onsite) Full-Time

Compensation: $17.50/hr.

The Resident Coordinator assists in the coordination of various aspects of the Emergency Crisis Shelter program, at A Safe Place Domestic Violence Shelter, to include providing supportive services to the Residents and Volunteers, coverage of the 24-hour Crisis Hotline, Crisis Hotline training and observations, coordination of Volunteers, debriefing of Volunteers and Staff, and provides administrative and procedural support and back-up to the Crisis Hotline program. This position is responsible facilitates A Safe Place’s commitment to foster growth and empowerment by coordinating efforts to offer support, safety planning assistance, resource education, goal planning, community liaises, and crisis intervention services to shelter Residents.

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The schedule is Sunday - Thursday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

• Answer and respond appropriately to the crisis hotline and make appropriate referrals
• Keep abreast of information regarding Domestic and Sexual Violence and provide Domestic and Sexual Violence Education regarding how to live in a non-violent environment to the residents
• Attend staff meetings as well as 40 hours of training per year through in-service trainings
• Meet with each resident, on a scheduled routine, to offer assistance on goal setting, to include planning, organization, and implementation and to encourage, support and facilitate goal progress, growth, self-efficacy and self-esteem
• Meet with therapist and director once a month to provide resident goal progress update and collaborate to address issues and identify needed support
• Act as single point of contact for communications for Residents and Volunteers
• Organizes, coordinates, manages, and provides on-going support and guidance to the volunteers for direct and indirect support services to support shelter programs
• Recommends and develops ongoing volunteer utilization to augment the program's direct and indirect services provided by paid staff members
• Maintain Volunteer Service Descriptions for each volunteer assignment. Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation as requested
• Monitor A Safe Place for safety and assure building is safe and secure
• Development, design and production of monthly newsletter
• Track and maintain record of donations and donor master list
• Participate in shelter fundraisers, special projects, and recreation/social activities with residents
• Maintains client files, agency files, statistics, forms, and other record keeping as required. Record in client chart in an accurate and timely manner
• Reviews daily log entries, email account, and crisis call sheets at the start of each shift. Accept supervision and perform other administrative duties assigned by the shelter manager
• Abide by and be knowledgeable of Compass’ Ethics & Compliance guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• High School/GED Required
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, communication, or other related field preferred

QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Four (4) plus years of experience in direct services, advocacy, crisis intervention experience working with victims of domestic violence required
• Working knowledge of MS office preferred

Possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license/Class E required
