Assistant Chief Nursing Officer

Compass Health Network Clinton, MO (Hybrid) Full-Time

Compensation:

The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer assists the Chief Nursing Officer in the nursing operations of Royal Oaks Hospital and behavioral health nurses in the medication clinics.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assist CNO in providing nursing leadership that will encourage nursing support, create ownership of goals, and empower team to actively participate in decisions impacting practice or patient care delivery
• Participates with CNO to integrate nursing care among departments when possible
• Provides direct supervision to Royal Oaks Hospital Director of Nursing, BH Clinic Prior Authorization Nurses, and behavioral health clinic laboratory nurse
• Assist CNO in providing nursing leadership environment that will encourage nursing support, create ownership of goals, and empower team to actively participate in decisions impacting practice or patient care delivery
• Assist CNO to integrate care among nursing departments, when possible
• Assist in the development and revision of hospital and behavioral health nursing policies and procedures
• Assist with clinical performance improvement initiatives for the hospital and behavioral health clinics
• Participate in and complies with ongoing regulatory and accreditation readiness for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health clinic nursing services
• Assist with the coordination of behavioral health and inpatient nursing schedules, float pool & recommendations for sharing nursing resources across programs
• Coordinates clinical training sites with Compass nursing location & colleges. Develops a nursing recruitment program for nursing students completing clinical rotations
• Collaborates CNO to develop hospital and outpatient program directors to develop training programs
• Participates in strategic planning processes
• Contributes as a member of the Senior Management Team
• All other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

• Oversees day-to-day operations and tasks of supervisees
• Completes performance development/AIM process
• Time card management – manages time sheets
• Works with CNO to ensure progress and development is made toward departmental strategic plan goals

Job Requirements:

BSN required

WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Expertise and progressive experience in management and/or nursing management
• Expertise in acute care and crisis inpatient management
• Experience in nursing education/training
• A minimum of five years of increasingly responsible healthcare leadership experience required, with a proven track record in general hospital clinical operations, clinical program development and related business planning and performance management
• A high level of analytical ability is required
• Ability to design complex clinical or administrative systems or programs
• Communication skills to lead, teach and persuade others
• Established reputation as a leader, consultant, and spokesperson for nursing

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

• Current State of Missouri Registered Nurse licensure required
• National Certification (ANCC)required or attained within 6 months of employment
