Job Description

Compensation: $94,000 Annually

POSITION PURPOSE

To ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. This person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

• Manage servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers, their associated operating systems, and software
• Manger security solutions, including anti-virus and patchessecurity updates
• Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices
• Ensure network connectivity of all workstations
• Administers all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades
• Perform server system design and capacity planning
• Conduct research on server products, services, protocols, and standards in support of server procurement and development efforts
• Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure server products and services
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for server and systems resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery
• Practice server and system's asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
• Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
• Perform system backups and recovery
• Monitor and test server performance and provide server performance statistics and reports
• Recommend, schedule, and perform server improvements, upgrades and repairs
• Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

 

EDUCATION

• High School/GED required
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE

• At least five (5) years equivalent work experience required if high school/GED is the highest education obtained
• Expert technical knowledge of network and systems operating systems, including Windows, Citrix, VMWare, Office 365, Nimble required
• Hands-on hardware trouble shooting experience required
• Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives required
• Knowledge of applicable date privacy practices and laws required
• Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
• Strong interpersonal skills required
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language required
