Job Description

Compensation: $17.00 per hour; $18.27 QMHP

The Employment Specialist will expand vocational opportunities for persons with psychiatric disabilities by providing individualized, community-based and integrated employment support.



1) Directly assist consumers to choose, obtain and maintain competitive employment
2) Identify, cultivate and document community employment opportunities
3) Assist to measure employer and consumer satisfaction at least on a semi-annual basis
4) Appropriate documentation and recording within the case record according to policy
8) Other duties as assigned
5) Participate in ongoing clinical supervision
6) Participate in weekly team meetings


Job Requirements


  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in human service related field.
  • Any bachelor’s degree with one year of experience.
  • Two years of higher education with two years of experience.
  • Four years of experience.
  • All experience must include working with individuals with psychiatric, substance use, and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Has a commitment to service and personal excellence.
  • Is team oriented and values diversity.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with arms and hands; climb stairs;  ; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities of the position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
