• 2-5 years experience preferred

• Annual education and training from accredited agency to maintain compliance with OSHA Standards.

OSHA Safety Officer
Compensation: $31.93/hr
The OSHA Safety Officer is responsible for supporting the development of Health and Safety policies and programs, advising, and instructing on various safety-related topics, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures. The position will also assist with the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Annual Infection Prevention Plan and Program, the Exposure Control Plans, and the Exposure Incident Review Committee. The position is responsible for the surveillance of potential threats, educating and training employees about infection prevention and the policies and procedures related to infection control standards that meet recommendations and requirement of any/all regulatory agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC
- Oversees the OSHA requirements related to:
- Blood Borne Pathogens Standard
- Safety Data Sheets
- Infection Control Program for Compass Health
- Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of effectiveness of company-wide policies and procedures
- Participates in providing the required OSHA training for staff and the continuing educational programs with documentation of newly acquired knowledge and skills.
- Acts as resource to the physician(s), nursing and ancillary staff for the interpretation of Compass Health policies
- Responsible for the annual review and update of any/all Exposure Control and Infection Control Plans
- Oversees the evaluation program of safer needles for the agency, AED compliance
- Surveys each clinic site as needed
- Monitors CDC website for infection control surveillance
- Collaborates with the Infection Control Nurse for Royal Oaks Hospital
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Counsel or the General Counsel
