Content Writer

Compass Health Network St. Peters, MO (Onsite) Full-Time

Compensation: $25.10/hr

Content Writer will develop and create content for website content, blogs, landing pages, articles, e-newsletters, white papers, content for social media, brochures, marketing collateral, print ads, and other print publications such as our Year in Review. Content Writer will also assist in writing copy for radio and TV commercials, as well as internal and external video scripts. Content Writer will interface with Sr. leadership, internal and external medical experts and be comfortable with interviewing sources. The Content Writer must be capable of producing well-researched and accurate content, as well as exercise editorial judgment, on tight deadlines.

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The schedule is Monday - Friday, days. Position may require travel throughout the state for meetings at various office locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

• Article planning, researching, writing and editing of, but not limited to, the following:
o Compass Connection (bimonthly internal newsletter in printable and electronic formats)
o Year in Review (annual magazine-style publication highlighting successes of organization)
• Assist the VP of Marketing in overseeing the management, development and implementation of multi-platform social media strategy and content calendar for agency (as they are assigned to marketing staff, if applicable)
• Create social media content to promote agency services, as well as other social posts as directed
• Write content for the company website(s), including evaluation of the current content of the company site, making suggestions for edits as needed to maintain proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.
• Assist with social media posting and management on all agency social platforms
• Work with VP of Marketing to brainstorm interesting and engaging content for both internal and external audiences
• Write narratives for brochures, websites, posters, and other collateral materials
• Work internally and with outside agencies to ensure information on marketing materials are properly & positively reflecting agency's integrity
• Work with agency staff to market and promote fundraising events and other community activities
• Assist with creating marketing materials for various marketing channels as directed
• Maintain marketing materials, updating existing materials as needed, and checking for grammar, spelling, and voice
• Create new marketing materials as directed
• Assist with events as needed
• Work with outside agencies as needed
• Assist with project management as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, strategic communications, public relations or related field required

QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• At least three (3) years’ experience required
• Experience working with media outlets and outside vendors required
• Must be a highly motivated individual who seeks to tackle creative challenges
• Ability to work independently, as well as within a team, to develop strategic, creative ideas that will move the agency forward
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Graphic design background/understanding, both digital and print, preferred
• Familiarity with social media platforms and MS Office required
• Familiarity with WordPress and website updates preferred
• Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills required
