Employment Specialist

Compass Health Network Arnold, MO (Onsite) Full-Time

Compensation: $25.54/hr; $26.81/hr (Master's)

Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we are offering a $1,500 sign-on bonus.* We are eager to continue to provide quality and compassionate care in our service areas and need you to make this happen!

The Employment Specialist expands vocational opportunities for persons with psychiatric disabilities providing individualized, community-based, and integrated employment support.

This is a Full-time, benefit eligible position. Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:00pm or 9:00am-5:00pm, some weekend hours required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

  • Employment Specialists will spend 65% or more of total scheduled work hours in the community.
  • Identify, cultivate, and document community employment opportunities
  • Assist to measure employer and consumer satisfaction at least on a semi-annual basis
  • Appropriate documentation and recording within the case record according to policy
  • Participate in ongoing clinical supervision, regularly attend team meetings and huddles
  • Adhere to ongoing professional training policies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, Vocational Rehabilitation, and employers
  • Seek and include input from Integrated Health Team providers
  • Other duties as assigned

Clinical Service Provisions

  • Using a motivational, stage-matched approach, provide individualized employment services based upon strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences identified collaboratively with client/family, focused on supporting client’s movement toward recovery/resiliency goals
  • Assist client in identifying strengths, needs, abilities, & preferences regarding mental illness/substance use and participate in development of Wellness Plan
  • Provide services from a holistic perspective with attention to developing and achieving employment skills.
  • Support client in completion of employment goal identified on Treatment Plans, reviewing the Treatment Plan with client as required and as needed for updating of employment goal and objectives as items are achieved, or as the client’s goals change
  • Provide assistance in accessing public services, including financial, housing, employment related needs, etc.
  • Provide education and skill-building in areas such as daily living skills, employment/education, symptom management, communication/relationships, budgeting, maintaining a residence, etc., with focus on movement toward independent completion of these tasks, or referral to long-term supports
  • Assist clients with developing personal support systems, including, but not limited to, work with family members, legal guardians, recovery communities, etc.
  • Provide individual assistance to consumers in accessing needed mental health services
  • Follow up with consumers regarding appointments, completion of forms, returning forms or receipts and other similar activities
  • Meet service provision expectations per client needs and company guidelines
  • Complete documentation and paperwork within the required timeframe

Job Requirements:

  • High School/GED required
  • Associate’s*/Bachelor’s/Master's degree in a human service-related field preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must qualify for position based on overall CSS requirements in at least one of the options listed:
o Qualified addiction professional;
o Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from a college or university included in the U.S. Department of Education’s database of accredited schools at http:/ope.ed.gov/accreditation ;
o Any four-year degree or combination of higher education and qualifying experience;
o Four years of qualifying experience; or
o Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree as designated by the department.
o Qualifying experience must include delivery of service to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.
• A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Class E MO driver’s license by the end of the 60-day introductory period required (JRI program only)
