Peer Recovery Specialist - EPICC

Compass Health Network Columbia, MO (Onsite) Full-Time

Compensation: $18.00/hourly

The Peer Recovery Specialist is a part of the Engaging Patients in Care Coordination (EPICC) team and will assist in addressing community opioid epidemic. The Peer Recovery Specialist will have the opportunity to work on community collaboration with varying treatment centers throughout the CHN service areas. A Peer Recovery Specialist should be prepared to outreach EPICC clients in the field, provide equitable service delivery to a diverse client population, complete data entry requirements in a timely manner, and manage agency-specific tasks.

This is a full-time benefit eligible position. The schedule is primarily Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm, with some on-call coverage required. The on-call rotation includes some nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities of the Peer Specialist:

• Sharing lived experiences of recovery, sharing, and supporting the use of recovery tools and modeling successful recovery behaviors
• Follow monthly Recovery Specialist/Coach outreach schedule/plan; Note: specialist/coach may be required to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month (rotating days off during the week) with potential evenings and weekends and will be required to maintain a flexible schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage.
• Provide outreach to individuals who use opioids and motivate them/provide linkage to treatment services (via hospital ED, community-based outreaching, street outreach services, and in partnership with community-based referral sources as required).
• Coordinate connection to treatment and recovery support services and collaborate with current partners to eliminate barriers to long term recovery/treatment engagement.
• Accurately document outreaches in Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) Database the following business day after the outreach is completed.
• Follow-up with clients and treatment centers as needed to ensure the referral to services was completed and the client was connected/admitted to the agency
• Complete client follow-ups as needed to keep the client engaged or to re-engage as well as completing status updates at two weeks, 30 days, three months and six months post-outreach.
• Meet with Program Management regularly to debrief from on-call shifts, discuss cases and engagement strategies, and ensure proper form completion.
• Attend weekly required staff meetings
• Be comfortable meetings clients in the community at safe designated locations
• Driving is an essential function of this position
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

High School/GED required

WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must self-identify as current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services; Previous lived experience with substance use and recovery required
• Must be willing to shared their lived experience with clients and on outreaches
• Must be in recovery for a minimum of two years
• Must possess Missouri Peer Specialist certification in substance use/recovery at time of hire or within 60 days of hire.
• A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
