eMPI Analyst

Compass Health Network USA (Remote) Full-Time

Compensation: $20.98/hr

The eMPI Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and maintaining patient data integrity within the Electronic Master Patient Index software. This includes remediation of duplicate medical record numbers, preparing and processing patient merges within Electronic Health Record solutions, linking patients across legacy EHR solutions and assisting with correction of any demographic information.

This is a full time, benefit eligible position working Monday-Friday 2:00pm - 11:00 pm. This is a remote position, open to Missouri residents only.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Monitors potential patient identification data integrity issues within the eMPI
• Monitors for duplicates of records within the multiple EHR legacy systems
• Addresses and corrects demographic issues such as, legal name changes; adoptions; death notifications
• Responsible for facilitating Electronic Health Record client merges
• Responsible for communication back to staff when duplicates are created
• Compares data across state wide databases (CIMOR Emomed, ECT) and EHRs
• Corrects patient identification data across the EMR, downstream systems and external HIEs to ensure accurate clinical communication
• Monitors patient identification data entry to ensure naming convention policy is followed
• Serves as a liaison between HIM, Frontline Staff, and Scheduling to monitor and resolve patient data integrity issues
• Provides appropriate updates to all downstream systems and HIE staff
• Provides exceptional customer service to everyone they encounter
• Works independently and with minimal guidance
• Takes prompt action to accomplish objectives; takes action to achieve goals beyond what is required; is proactive
• Effectively manages time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• High School/GED required
• Associate’s degree in computer applications or related field preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• At least two (2) years Excel experience required if High School/GED degree is the highest degree obtained
• Knowledge of data extraction from electronic health records preferred
• Ability to work with all staff performing registration functions preferred
• Knowledge of various Health IT systems and how the workflow crosses into the medical record preferred
• Ability to solve complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises sound judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information preferred
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills preferred
