Customer Relations Specialist
Compensation: $17.89/hr
The Customer Relations Specialist maintains direct contact with patients on a daily basis and performs in-person and telephone reception for the office, verify insurance eligibility and benefits, responsible for handling cash, and balancing assigned cash bag. This position possesses excellent and empathetic service skills, maintains composure in difficult situations, and has general knowledge of office operations.
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The schedule is Monday - Friday 9:30am-6:00pm.
- Schedule and register appointments for patients according to established procedures and communicate to coordinate scheduling with other offices as needed
- Perform general office/clerical duties including but not limited to answering multi-phone systems incoming calls, preparing patient documents needed, scan documents, facilitating incoming and outgoing postal and interoffice mail, assist with outgoing e-faxes and sort incoming e-faxes, etc.
- Maintain front office inventory and keeping storage area in an orderly manner
- Prepare patient charts and determine the financial and insurance eligibility status of all patients prior to every encounter
- Prepare receipts for patient payments received. Balance payments received on payment log and in cash bags daily
- Assure the readiness of the reception area for each working day; open the building at the designated time and have all front desk activities fully operational at the start of business hours
- Secure the building at the close of each working day; turn off or unplug appliances and machines according to protocol and lock all entrances (if shift dictates)
- Assist with pre-certifications and referrals
- Assist patients with questions and form requests or direct and coordinate patients to the appropriate individual or department
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
