Job Requirements of Medical Assistant/Nurse RN/LPN Outpatient (BH):
High School/GED required
Practical nursing certificate required if LPN, associate or bachelor's degree in nursing if RN required
WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• At least two (2) years of equivalent work experience required if an associates degree or medical assistant certification is not obtained
• At least two (2) years medical office experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical office terminology, procedures and equipment preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Medical Assistant Certification required if (at least) two years of college or equivalent work experience is not obtained. LPN, RN or GPN/GN that must pass the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation required if RN or LPN

Medical Assistant/Nurse RN/LPN Outpatient (BH)
Compensation: $20.98/hr (MA) $27.37/hr (LPN); $34.00/hr (RN)
Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we are offering a $2,700 sign-on bonus for Medical Assistants and an additional $2,700 for Nurses.* We are eager to continue to provide quality and compassionate care in our service areas and need you to make this happen!
This is a full-time position at our Columbia clinic. The schedule is 36 hours/week Monday-Friday days. We are open to Nurses and Medical Assistants!

An Outpatient Nursing position will interest you, if running a Medication Clinic and acting as a case manager appeals to you! Our Compass Health Network Nursing Staff use the Compass “Champion” behavior to best serve our clientele. This role will actively communicate with their Clinical Doctor and Customer Relations Specialist to ensure our clients are taken care of.
*Includes Saturday rotation of approximate 4 per year.
Responsibilities of the nurse/medical assistant:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate medication clinic
- Individual will be cross-trained to assist in other clinics and regions, time traveled will be coordinated by Supervisor
- Will review medication education forms with client and review clients need for medication refills
- Complete all required documents regarding medication clinic and psychiatric consultation for EHR
- Administer IM medication, dispense samples, maintain accurate logs on all medications received and dispensed
- Assist with Prior Authorization, maintain injection list, ordering and delivery, verify orders are current, and discuss any side effects
- Complete pre-visit nursing assessment. Take patient’s histories, vital signs, and document in patient chart.
- Completes Metabolic Screens, Medication Possession Ratio Checks, DLA's and other CCBHO quality interventions and document in chart.
- Perform venipunctures and other procedures as directed.
- Follow Med Refill Protocol for patient refills and document accordingly
- Screen telephone callers for appropriate referral, relay messages and documents accordingly
- Maintain patients’ files, records, and other information
- Adhere to standard precautions, as appropriate, i.e., use protective barriers, handle, and dispose infectious waste appropriately, proper hand washing
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of unit facilities and equipment
- Monitor supply of medical stock, medical supplies, and laboratory needs or order supplies when necessary.
