Director of Behavioral Health Liaisons Program

Compass Health Network Jefferson City, MO (Hybrid) Full-Time

Compensation:

This Director will oversee the Community Behavioral Health Liaison (CBHL) program, and associated staff in all Compass Health Network regions. This Director will provide program oversight and development, as well as ensure quality of services.

This is a Full-time, benefit eligible position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

• Oversee and coordinate expansion initiatives to support model development, policy changes, sustainability and replication within Compass Health and the State
• Coordinate with other programs to facilitate whole person care and a coordinated treatment team response
• Support staff to ensure the following occur:
o Coordinate services and develop local systems of care for individuals with behavioral health needs who have come to the attention of law enforcement officials and court staff
o Participate in local law enforcement Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) or other initiatives that assist law enforcement in dealing with individuals with behavioral health needs
o Create and/or collaborate with local partners in Mental Health Courts or other specialty or diversion courts assisting individuals with behavioral health needs
o Provide or coordinate training and consultation on behavioral health issues for law enforcement and court staff as needed
o Partner with local ACI teams, along with courts, law enforcement or other entities in assessing individuals with behavioral health needs and accessing needed resources and services for such persons
o In coordination with the ACI, assist law enforcement and the courts in locating inpatient psychiatric beds for court-ordered involuntary detentions and in filing petitions for involuntary detention with the probate court for those individuals who present a likelihood of serious harm due to a mental disorder
o Complete all mandatory documentation, as noted by supervisor
o Act as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Other duties as assigned by the VP of Access and Urgent Care Services
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with external agencies/entities and contractual as appropriate to assigned programs and duties
• Conduct regular staff meetings for overall communication, workflow, and clinical consultation. Meetings may include optional/mandatory trainings as needed
• Complete introductory period and annual performance reviews of assigned staff
• Attend internal and external meetings related to CBHL programs, as assigned
• Abide by all professional, certification and corporate ethical standards
• Review records for completeness, accuracy, quality, and any peer review concern, this includes prior to a planned employee departure to assist with smooth transition of job duties
• Conduct weekly, but at a minimum, monthly face to face supervision with staff and maintain appropriate supervisory documentation
• Travel includes in-state travel for program oversight and occasional trainings

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a human service field required

WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • At least four (4) years experience in a human service field required

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

  • LPC or LCSW in Missouri preferred
