Compensation: 23.37 hourly

POSITION PURPOSE

The EHR Special Projects Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the myAvatar myHealthpointe patient portal and the coordination of notification to clinical teams of client hospital admissions/discharges via HIE systems. Will work directly with the EHR Special Projects Lead(s) to facilitate EHR special project success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

• Function as a system administrator to the myHealthpointe patient portal
• Responsible for creating accounts for patients and their proxies and assist with navigation of the patient portal
• Coordinate with the marketing team to develop and distribute marketing materials related to the patient portal to patients as well as internal to staff
• Create baseline data and monitor monthly thereafter to ensure maximum growth and adoption of the patient portal
• Responsible for ensuring policies concerning patient portal access and terms of use are current and monitor changes in regulations to facilitate compliance
• Responsible for monitoring and notifying clinical teams of active patient hospital admissions (non-Royal Oaks Hospital) and discharges via connection with EHR software and Health Information Exchange vendor
• Assist EHR Special Projects lead(s) with other EHR related projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION(S): EDUCATION

• High School/GED required
• Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Technology or related field preferred

QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• One (1) – three (3) years experience required
• Previous EMR/EHR experience required
• Previous patient portal administration/Health Information Exchange experience preferred
• Must possess a working knowledge of HIPAA regulatory requirements
• Must exhibit excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Must have the ability to take direction and work independently
• Must project a professional demeanor to both internal and external contacts
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
