EMPLOYEE TESTIMONIALS
This is so much more than a job for me. It is truly a second family. My colleagues exemplify what teamwork means and this can often times be felt by others. One of the most encouraging statements heard from those visiting us is that they view us as “one big happy family”. I believe this begins with senior leadership and the work environment that is created. Our patients and their safety are always the priority for any decisions made. Teamwork is integral to ensure optimal safety and best patient care.

Prior to starting my first job as a Headway Clubhouse Unit Leader in 2005, I was fresh out of my undergraduate program and really had no idea where my degree would lead me. Had you asked me in my undergraduate program if I wanted to work in the field of mental health, I would’ve told you no. Starting my journey with the agency many years ago has allowed me to learn so much and realize this is the field in which I was meant to work. The opportunities to instill hope are endless. It’s always exciting to see, firsthand, the progress our clients make. I left the agency in 2014 to work in another area of mental health and quickly returned to Compass two years later. I returned because I realized this is where I was meant to be. I have had wonderfully supportive team members and peers that have allowed me to learn and grown in tremendous ways. Now, working in a supervisory role, I prioritize my relationship with my team members and work to support them in their own journey, as that is what has been provided to me along my journey in my career and with Compass.

I worked for Compass Health briefly as a Substance Use Technician in 2014, while I was working towards my Bachelor of Social Work. Upon completion, I returned with my bachelor's and began working as an IHS. I have held a couple different positions as I was working through my Master of Social Work and through the licensure process. I have been a School Based Therapist for the agency for two school years. I absolutely enjoy being in my current position. My director is both knowledgeable of the field, and empathetic to the role and responsibility of a therapist. Compass Health has allowed me the ability to balance both my home life and my professional development. They provided me with a scholarship while I was attending my master's program and assisted with my licensure supervision for my LCSW. The organizational culture understands the importance of self-care, family, and nurtures professional development. The Compass Health team are real champions when it comes to navigating through a constantly evolving health care system. I am proud to be a part of their innovative approach to mental health.

What do I love about Compass? Everything! The answer is simple, but one of my favorite things I love about Compass is how they make you feel. This applies to both employees and customers. The path you walk in life does not matter; Compass takes you in and helps you grow. In my four years with Compass, I have grown both mentally and physically. Compass has helped me grow through the support from coworkers, education assistance, and guidance provided from titles big and small; no one treats you differently. Not only will you see your personal growth within the company, but there is also the growth of those we serve in our communities. That, for me, is the best part--watching as someone I’m assisting has that “aha” moment for them in their life where everything just starts to make sense, and they can carry out what they’ve learned. THAT will inspire you and others and push you to continue promoting wellness .

16 years-3 positions-1 company. To me, this shows an agency willing to grow with an employee, find the next best fit & proves there is longevity within the organization. I have been fortunate enough to have had strong leadership at each step throughout my Compass journey. They support me professionally and personally, reiterating that there is a need for work-life balance. That to me is priceless. Compass is growth oriented; always looking for new & creative ways to bring in additional teams & retain current team members. I have been a part of discussions, seeing firsthand that leadership asks the tough questions to get to better answers. Each new position, team & supervisor gives way to increased knowledge, skills & growth and I am very thankful to continue being a part of Compass Health Network.

While working at Compass Health I have been able to engage in a job that is challenging and rewarding! I am grateful for the immense support from coworkers and supervisors while providing therapy in the clinic. The ability to obtain licensure supervision for my license in the last two years has helped me to enhance my career and grow more as a mental health professional. I continue to look forward to how Compass Health will carry out our mission to “Inspire Hope and Promote Wellness” in our communities.
