Job Description

Compensation: $16.59 hourly

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for supervision of consumers to ensure their safety and well being.  Responsible for supervision of Substance Abuse Technicians          

        

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1) Performs all of the essential function of a substance abuse technician as defined in the technician job description.

2) Performs supervision of technician responsibilities on an ongoing, full-time basis including:

-posts open positions and works with Recruitment Manager to fill all available openings

-develops and oversees training and development of technician staff

-insures technicians perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures and implements documentation

-complete technicians work schedules and reviews time sheets

-facilitates monthly technician meetings to disseminate information and conduct in-service trainings

-assists director to conduct annual reviews of technician staff.

3) Serves as liaison between clinical staff and technician staff to facilitate communication and coordination of treatment efforts.

4) Coordinates with program in development and oversight of admission tracking system.

5) Prepares written correspondence related to admission process.

6) Reviews technician staff documentation for accuracy.

7) Maintains unit files: shift logs, group logs, admission tracking, monthly drills, and other documentation maintained on an ongoing basis.

In the absence of program director and counselor staff, maintains quality and continuity of services and manages staff operations to include, but not limited to, the following:

-oversees day to day operations of unit

-ensures safety and security of consumers and staff

-provides clinical guidance on all consumer treatment issues

-coordinates with probation and parole and other outpatient agencies on consumers issues related to the promotion of treatment and recovery.

8) Other duties as assigned          

Although driving is not an essential function of the position, a valid license and agency established minimum automobile coverage are required in the event the employee drives during the course of employment.  

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED, a valid drivers license at the time of hire with the ability to obtain and maintain a Class E MO driver’s license by the end of the 60 day introductory period.  Good verbal and written communication skills. Has a commitment to service and personal excellence. Is team oriented and values diversity.  Supervisory and/or residential treatment experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with arms and hands; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities of the position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
