Job Description

Maintain stable operations of company network environment and provide optimal network performance across all Compass Health locations. This includes research, planning, developing, and configuration of new and existing projects/technologies to introduce into company network infrastructure. Provide continual maintenance of new and existing network hardware/software. Follow best practices methods for configuration and security of network hardware/software. Communicate to senior management of any issues that may arise as well as any projects requiring network downtime. Provide monitoring and reporting for all aspect of company network infrastructure and performance. Provide network support to all locations throughout the Compass Health network. Supervise and provide training for junior network employees. Duties include:

1) Manage Compass Health network infrastructure, including managed services routers, switches, firewalls, security appliances, and wireless hardware/software
2) Perform network design and capacity planning
3) Conduct research on network products, services, protocols and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
4) Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure network products and services
5) Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery
6) Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
7) Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
8) Perform system backups and recovery
9) Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports
10) Recommend, schedule and perform network improvements, upgrades and repairs
11) Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team

1) College diplomas or university degree in the field of computer science and/or three (5) years equivalent work experience
2) Current certification with Cisco networking (CCNA or CCNP) or equivalent
3) Expert knowledge of various routing/switching protocols
4) High level understanding of configuration and deployment of Cisco/Meraki, HP, Aruba, and Fortinet devices and software
5) Expert knowledge of security standards configuation of network hardware/software
6) High level ability to troubleshoot and problem solve complex networking issues
7) Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives
8) Knowledge of applicable privacy practices and laws
9) Strong written and oral communication skills
10) Strong interpersonal skills
11) Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required
12) Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
13) Highly self motivated and directed
14) Keen attention to detail
15) Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Interested applicants should be able to sit for extended periods of time; be comfortable with occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings, and able to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
