Screening and Credentialing Specialist

Level 3 - Non-Exempt

Administrative Support


The Screening and Credentialing Specialist is responsible for staff and contractor background screening, license/certification verification and administrative support to the Human Resources department.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Verify all professional licensure and certifications upon hire and ongoing
  • Education/residency/board certification verification for credentialing/privileging candidates
  • Complete annual background screenings for staff and contractors in accordance with their anniversary dates. Checks including but not limited to federal criminal history, state criminal history, child abuse and neglect, driving history, DMH disqualification lists, OIG, SAM, NPDB, LA Direct Service Worker Registry, Missouri sanctions and Medicare Opt Out
  • Consistent internal auditing of employee credentials, records and HR processes
  • Assist with filing and data entry following all legal guidelines
  • Generate reports, as requested


Additional Duties:

  • Provide backup support for Human Resources staff when needed (Initial background screenings, E-Verifications, etc.)
  • Attend all training as required by Compass Health, Accreditors and Funders
  • Special projects as assigned



Job Requirements


  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two years Human Resources experience, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent typing and grammar skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
