Job Description


  • Psychiatrists provide direct and indirect services to client. Job responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Complete psychiatric evaluations, as required. 15%
  • Follow persons served for whom psychiatric medication is prescribed. 55%
    • Be on call to provide emergency services to outpatient persons served
    • Obtain and monitor lab work, when applicable.
    • Facilitate the hospitalization of persons served requiring inpatient care.
    • Assist indigent persons with medication needs by being aware of and using free medication programs.
  • Provide medication information to persons served and their significant others, when possible. 5%
  • Maintain agreed upon level of productivity.
  • Function as part of a multidisciplinary team and participate in weekly treatment planning meetings. 10%
  • Review and sign off on CPRP service plans, ITP’s and quarterly reviews. 5%

Other Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable of other human/social services for purposes of referral if the agency is unable to provide a particular service. 2%
  • Interface with other human/social service agencies to provide wholistic services to clients. 2%
  • Serve as medical consultant to all clinical program staff. 4%
  • Provide in services to staff on new medications and other issues related to pharmocotherapy as needed. 2%
  • Attend all training as required by Crider Health Center, Accreditors and Funders.

Job Requirements


  • Currently licensed to practice medicine as a physician/surgeon in the state of Missouri.
  • Successful completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by AMA or ACA.

  • The Psychiatrist receives supervision from the Medical Director, Behavioral Health.
