Compensation: $19.00/per hour

Description

The Language Coordinator/Certified Spanish Interpreter is part of the person centered integrated care team and is responsible for interpreting and/or coordinating appointments in the Wentzville Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health Departments. Specific job responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities
Interpretive Services 75%
• Schedules appointments and provides professional interpretive services according to established guidelines of the profession
• Confirms Spanish speaking appointments or coordinates outside languages for the following day/two days in advance
• Answers Spanish line in phone system in polite and courteous manner.
- Direct phone calls and messages to appropriate office staff.
• Confirm patient’s insurance coverage eligibility and coordinates interpretive services based on if covered
• Works in conjunction with medical assistants and providers regarding medication refills, lab results, pediatric referrals
• Monitors/manages interpreter schedule, coordinates interpretive services for languages outside of Spanish and for patients whose insurance covers interpretive services
• Follow-up on all Spanish missed appointments at all sites
• Manage and monitor the patient portal for Spanish speaking patients
• Collects co-pays, past due balances (if applicable) for Spanish speaking patients, balances daily batch and turns in money collected for the day as directed by the Central Reception Supervisor

Administrative Support/Other Responsibilities: 25%
• Reviews LAMP invoices monthly for accuracy
• Translates all agency documents/brochures/marketing materials/letters
• Keep abreast of any updates/changes per outside interpretive providers
- Communicate any changes/updates discovered through other means to Central Reception Supervisor
• Detail Oriented
• Attends monthly staff meetings as required
• Conducts self in accordance with Crider Health Center’s employee manual
• Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
• Excels in Customer Service
• Regular attendance (except as excused)
• Attend all training as required by Crider Health Center, Accreditors and Funders.
• All other duties as assigned.

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications
• High School graduate or equivalent as recognized by the US Department of Education with clerical background
• Medical Interpreter Certification preferred

- At least two (2) years of experience as an interpreter
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
