Job Description

Compensation: $23.57 hourly

 

This individual will primarily be responsible for: 1) overseeing the development of data collection tools; 2) verifying the validity of data reports pulled by IT staff including cleaning and quality checks; 3) performing statistical analyses; 4) assisting in the reporting of results to external partners; and 5) developing and implementing integrated population health tools, registries, and dashboards. This individual will work independently and in collaboration with other quality staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

Conducts Data Analysis and Report Findings

• Manages data collection. Perform quantitative and qualitative data collection and data management tasks, including audits, cleaning, and quality control checks of data
• Analyzes data such as Medicaid claims, treatment data, health and treatment outcome indicators, risk and protective factors, and other behavioral health information
• Performs statistical analysis of data to assess the impact of services, the efficacy of program interventions, and adherence to service requirements
• Performs quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze trend data, impacts of proposed program changes, and assesses the need for new or expanded programs
• Maintains periodic reporting to various stakeholders
• Designs and generates technical and surveillance reports based on established requirements for a variety of audiences as well as on an ad hoc basis as needed
• Assists with the development and implementation of a risk stratification system
• Develops and maintains client registries for the purpose of identifying and managing targeted quality outcomes
• Assists with utilization management and review of data from the EHR and other data sources
• Assists in designing, producing and interpreting dashboards, charts and other presentation formats that will be used to track and improve data quality and for decision making
• Attends meetings with internal and external customers, collaborates on analytic needs, and presents/explains data, where appropriate
• Maintains awareness of and familiarity with the organization’s services, information, documentation, and reporting issues and requirements
• Researches new/revised tools and services that will improve the organization’s analytical and data presentation capabilities

Manages and Oversees Data Integrity and Evaluation

• Assesses the quality of data by monitoring data reporting completeness and timeliness and recommends changes or enhancements to improve the quality and efficiency of surveillance systems
• Ensures integrity and proper system function of data collection system(s), documents problems and enhancement needs; identifies interface, reporting and data transfer issues through consultation with IT, the EHR team, and results testing
• Designs, coordinates, and manages special surveillance and/or evaluation procedures where there is no other existing data available
• Assesses the appropriateness and limitations of performance and outcome indicators that can be measured based on claims data and other data collection methods
• Designs and conducts program evaluation for performance and outcome indicators
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE

• A demonstrated aptitude for learning new software applications, questioning and exploring data preferred

Required Experience:

• At least three (3) years of related work experience in public health, computer science, biostatistics, psychology, social sciences required if bachelor’s degree is obtained
• At least one (1) year of related work experience in public health, computer science, biostatistics, psychology, social sciences required if master’s degree is obtained

Preferred Experience:

• Working in a public health setting
• Database development, entry, and quality control procedures
• Statistical modeling techniques, such as factor analysis, survival analysis, and multi-level modeling highly desirable
• Working in multidisciplinary teams
• Statistical analysis with the ability to see through complex data and find conclusions

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency with Excel, Sharepoint, and software such as Stata, SPSS, Microsoft Office for statistical analyses, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, presentation, email, and database management
• Consistent and reliable with strong interpersonal skills
• Strong analytic skills with an attention to detail and accuracy in editing, record-keeping, etc.
• Critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including public speaking and ability to translate data and statistical information including reports into laymen’s terms for multiple audiences
