Compensation: 25.00


  • Leads a team of crisis counselors in the field.
  • Experienced disaster behavioral health worker or behavioral health professional with supervisory experience. 
  • May help to assess people who require traditional mental health or substance use treatment.
  • Trains, debriefs, and provides supervision for the crisis counselors.
  • Uses data to conduct ongoing needs assessment.
  • Coordinates data collection activities and reviews data form submissions for accuracy.
  • Provides coordination and oversight of the crisis counselors’ plans of service.
  • May perform crisis counseling as needed, as specified below:

• Outreach/Education
-Outreach to families/ individuals who were affected by the disaster.
-Provide educational materials to assist those affected in coping with
their experiences related to the disaster.
-Provide referrals and active linking to needed services and supports, including, but not limited to, FEMA, and community organizations/services active in disaster including the Long-Term Recovery Committees.
-Connecting families/ clients with reconnecting with their personal support systems, including, but not limited to, family members, legal guardians, recovery communities, etc.
• Participate as a member of a Crisis Counseling Team
-Communicate actively with other members of the Crisis Counseling team.
-Seek and include input from other team members and other organizations active in disaster as needed.
-Attend and participate in staffings, including team meetings.
-Make referrals to additional services/providers as needed.
-Function as liaison and support to others involved in disaster recovery.
• Documentation
-Complete the forms required by the CCP Contract.
-Complete mileage and expense report monthly.
• Miscellaneous
-Will work with the other crisis counselor to coordinate schedules.
- Attend all training as required 



Job Requirements


•  Bachelors degree in Human Services-related field.
• A valid Missouri driver’s license.
• Training provided by the Crisis Counseling Grant.
• Knowledge of Psychological First Aid.
