Description

The Dental Receptionist is part of the person centered integrated care team and responsible for providing administrative support to Dental Clinic and the Dental Director. Specific job responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities:

Receptionist Duties: 50%
• Answer multi-line phone system in polite and courteous manner.
- Perform phone triage of all incoming calls.
- Direct phone calls and messages to appropriate office staff.
- Answer questions concerning office operations.
- Schedule all dental appointments
• Greet and check in patients and hand out comment cards.
• Confirm patient’s insurance coverage eligibility and all next day appointments
• Send correspondence to patients who missed their appointment and/or are due for a check-up appointment.
• Collect fees per patient’s insurance or sliding fee eligibility.

Office Management Duties: 45%
• Complete posting of payments and submit billing claims
• Record all checks & cash for daily deposit
• Reconcile daily receipts and petty cash
• Performs duties involving record filing and retrieval, chart closure, and retention within the guidelines of agency policy.
• Maintain files and tickler system, using computerized data entry on all contracted healthcare agreements
• Keep abreast of any updates/changes per insurance provider via internet listservs and mail, and information provided by Sr. Director of Medical and Dental Services
- Communicate any changes/updates discovered through other means to Sr. Director of Medical and Dental Services

Administrative Support: 5%
• Typing, filing, copying, faxing for the Dental Clinic and Dental Director.
• Organize and prioritize Dental Clinic’s and Dental Director’s mail.
• Maintain files and tickler system maintenance, using computerized data entry, on all agency contractual healthcare agreements.
• Maintain files and tickler system, using computerized data entry on all contracted healthcare agreements
• Order and maintain needed office supplies
• Provide reports to the Sr. Director of Medical and Dental Services as requested.
• All other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities:
• Attend all training as required by Crider Health Center, Accreditors and Funders.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent with clerical background.
• At least one year dental office experience.
• 3 years administrative experience with upper management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of medical records management
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in
a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Supervision
The Dental Receptionist receives supervision from the Dental Services Supervisor.
