Compensation: $20.60 Hourly

*This a Grant Position that is temporary and hours can vary from 0-40 hours a week. 

POSITION PURPOSE

Provide crisis counseling and outreach for the federally declared disasters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

• Provide information, resources, and emotional support to families and individuals
• Offer support groups and individual sessions in individuals’ homes as deemed necessary to assist with disaster recovery
• Provide the required documentation to Show Me Hope team leader
• Participate in Show Me Hope staff meetings and training as necessary
• Be available to answer any referrals from the BHR Show Me Hope line
• Make appropriate warm referrals for services and long-term case management, psychiatric and counseling services
• Continue to assist case managers with difficult client cases by assisting the survivor towards their recovery
• Continue to provide accurate and timely information to the clients and other staff regarding services available to the survivors
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

EDUCATION

High School/GED required

WORK EXPERIENCE

• At least one (1) year of similar experience preferred
• Must be comfortable going into a new community meeting new individuals
• Must have the ability to use electronic devices to track time and work activities
• Must have the ability to complete tasks independently
