JOB TITLE: Behavioral Health Outreach Coordinator - UCM      

DEPARTMENT: Crisis Services

REPORTS TO: Deputy CCO, Access and Urgent Care Services

POSITION PURPOSE

The Behavioral Health Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of services for individuals with behavioral health needs or conditions who have come to the attention of campus law enforcement and/or school personnel. The client population would consistent of enrolled students at UCM who are experiencing complex mental health needs that are either unmet or are poorly coordinated. The Behavioral Health Outreach Coordinator is a part of a person-centered integration team and works with local systems to coordinate care for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

• Coordinate services and utilize UCM’s system of care for individuals with behavioral health needs who have come to the attention of campus law enforcement and/or school personnel
• Participate in local law enforcement Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) as UCM behavioral health representatives, and any other initiatives that assist law enforcement in dealing with individuals who manifest behavioral health needs as it relates to the UCM student population
• Provide or coordinate training and consultation on behavioral health issues for UCM staff
• Assist school personnel, including UCM Public Safety, in assessing persons with behavioral health needs and accessing needed resources for such persons
• When necessary, assist with filing documents for involuntary detention when legal criteria are met and a less restrictive level of care is not appropriate
• Assist the DCCO of Access and Urgent Care Services with training, compiling required reports and data collection, and other duties required by the Missouri Department of Mental Health, CARF or other regulatory bodies
• Comply with other requirements set forth by Compass Health or Pathways Community Health policies
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

EDUCATION

Master’s degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation/vocational/pastoral counseling, family therapy or closely-related field required

WORK EXPERIENCE

• The completion of a practicum or at least one (1) year of experience under the supervision of a QMHP required
• All experience must include working with individuals with psychiatric, substance use, and/or developmental disabilities

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) required
