Compensation: $24.37 hour

Due to rapid expansion in all of our clinics, we are offering a $4,000 sign on bonus in addition to up to $12,000 in annual performance incentives . We are eager to be able to continue to serve clients in our service areas and need you to make this happen!

The Substance Use counselor provides direct patient care to preadolescents, adolescents, and adult patients in an acute psychiatric setting including individual and group counseling. Directs all addiction services including delivery of substance abuse counseling and chemical dependency evaluations. CHN team members enjoy a collaborative team environment, and competitive benefits, including the performance incentives.

Other responsibilities of the counselor:

• Provide therapeutic services and education about substance use and addiction
• Provide initial evaluation and assessment interview within 72 hours of patient admission
• Develop appropriate treatment plan goals to provide service during hospitalization and aftercare recommendations
• Conduct individual, group, family/couples therapy and chemical dependency consultations with recommendations
• Maintain appropriate documentation within time frames stated in policies


Job Requirements


• High School/GED required
• Associates/Bachelor’s/Master’s degree preferred


At least five years experience as a substance abuse treatment provider required


Certified Substance Abuse Counselor-II
