Job Description

Compensation: $16.92/hour

Responsible for outreach and education to current health center patients as well as community residents regarding their health insurance options under the state insurance marketplace, MO HealthNet and CHIP. This position is also responsible for assisting persons to enroll for these insurance coverages. Successful candidate must have the ability to work evening and weekend hours on occasion.

1) Conduct in reach activities with currently uninsured health center patients and outreach to non-health center persons in the health center's service area by providing information and assistance in a fair, accurate and impartial manner that is both culturally and linguistically appropriate.
2) Provide education to health center staff at all sites regarding insurance options so that they can assist in educating their parents/clients.
3) Provide educational materials regarding insurance options to community partners including health departments, hospitals, urgent cares, physician's offices and human services agencies and collaborate and coordinate outreach efforts with them.
4) Deliver presentations to community groups.
5) Represent the health center at health fairs and other events to provide education regarding health insurance coverage.
6) Assist persons with enrollment in an insurance marketplace, MO HealthNet or CHIP per the agency's work plan.
7) Complete all required trainings, participate in all meetings assigned, complete all required reporting.
8) Provide referrals to any applicable office of health insurance consumer assistance or ombudsman established under Section 2793 of the PHS Act to address consumer grievances, complaints or questions about their health plan coverage or a determination.
9) Other duties as assigned.

Although driving is not an essential function of the position, a valid license and agency established minimum automobile coverage are required in the event the employee drives during the course of employment.
