Job Description

The JRI Housing Coordinator position is a full-time benefit eligible position. 

 

POSITION PURPOSE

To coordinate housing services in collaboration with tenants, community partners and agency programs in order to locate, procure and achieve housing stability for vulnerable individuals and families in the Justice Reinvestment Treatment Pilot (JRI TP).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

• Outreach and engage consumers in JRI Pilot to assess housing needs and coordinate emergency housing
• Help JRI consumers to
• Coordinate with other JRI staff/team members to support consumers in becoming housed and to achieve housing stability to reach successful JRI completion and integration into the community
• Coordinate with NAR housing provider
• Comply with all applicable housing program rules and regulations
• Collaborate with other providers as needed
• Attend all meetings with stakeholders as assigned
• Work closely with DOC
• Promote and develop tenant engagement through activities and education
• Eviction prevention
• Community engagement
• Developing and maintaining positive relationships with community stakeholders, police, neighbors, local businesses and potential resources
• Participate in the Continuum of Care meetings
• Participate in Coordinated Entry
• Clinical Services Liaison
• Encourage landlord engagement
• Building relationships with community landlords
• Maintain open communication with landlords
• Identify potential new landlords
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

EDUCATION

• High School/GED required
• Bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE

• At least four (4) years experience in human services required if Bachelor’s degree is not obtained
• Ability to articulate and operate within the Housing First Model required
• Working knowledge of available housing subsidy programs and other potential housing resources required
• Strong verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills required
• Significant in-state travel; valid driver’s license and agency-established minimum automobile coverage required
