Compensation: $17.37/hour

POSITION PURPOSE

The Compliance Auditor is responsible for auditing and monitoring staff documentation, assist with internal auditing and compliance, and the coordination of the improvement of clinical documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

• Audits and monitors documentation of services
• Utilizes audit tools based on regulatory compliance requirements
• Participates in joint projects with other internal audit staff
• Provides ongoing education to staff on various documentation concerns as directed
• Works with finance department on various documentation matters
• Participates in the rejections and claims review process with patient accounting to ensure compliance and accurate reimbursement as needed
• Tracks trends, monitors, identifies, and reports documentation issues and compliance concerns
• Uses auditing and testing processes to initiate and conduct follow-up clinical documentation improvement education
• Reviews codes using ICD-10 and CPT coding system
• Demonstrates good organizational skills and communicates effectively, both orally and in writing
• Runs reports regularly
• Demonstrates knowledge of all EHR systems that the organization uses

QUALIFICATION(S): EDUCATION

High School/GED required

QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• At least one (1) year of medical terminology preferred
• Must have experience working collaboratively with diverse groups in a healthcare environment
• Must be familiar with government healthcare reimbursement systems
• Must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Must be successful in interacting effectively with providers
• Must have the ability to analyze large amounts of data to identify trends
• Experience in ICD, DSM V, and Excel preferred
